Fred Hibbs was born in 1931 and brought up in Notting Hill at Moreland House on Lancaster Road. Fred first worked at the Rootes car factory on Barlby Road in North Kensington. After doing National Service, he had jobs at the Vulcan sheet metal works on Latimer Road, a Goldhawk Road sheet metal works, on the railways at the Old Oak Common depot servicing trains and at Paddington Station as a porter, at the tinning factory on Latimer Road, where Doreen worked, and then as a van driver in Hammersmith. Fred and Doreen have had five children.
