Description
Summary:1943-02-26 1943 1940s 2 pages P.C. Noted 8/3/43 Post Office Gilfach Bargoed 26.2.43 Dear Sir At a public meeting of women of Gilfach Bargoed strong indignation was expressed towards the Governments "Go Slow" policy towards the Beveridge Plan and the following resolution which I was instructed to forward to you, was unanimously adopted. "That the women of Gilfach Bargoed call on the Government to begin its task of making this country worthy of the sacrifices already made, by implementing now the benefits of the Beveridge Plan, ere the aged lose hope, and ere our own fighters and workers lose faith in the Atlantic Charter and their visions of a better world." I was also requested to circulate it to the Press. Yours faithfully. E.A. Davies 292/150.5/5/130
