Description
Summary:1932 1932 1930s 86 pages : illustrations Again we are most grateful to our splendid Transport Corps, special mention being made of Mr. Godfrey, who enables the many Ottery patients to attend the Clinic whenever no other car is available. E.M. NORMAN, Hon. Sec. KINGSBRIDGE ORTHOPAEDIC CLINIC. Since the Clinic was taken over from the Devon County last July things have been running quite satisfactorily. The number of new and discharged cases have been about equal and the attendances have been very good considering the widespread area and difficulties of transport, which, thanks to the efforts of our local representatives, are being rapidly overcome. Our thanks are also due to the St. John's Ambulance helpers who come from Salcombe on Surgeon's days to assist us in the work. D. ROBERTS, Hon. Sec. LAUNCESTON ORTHOPAEDIC CLINIC. This Clinic was opened in May, 1932. It has shown how much it was needed in this area by the number of cases treated during the eight months of its existence. There are now 52 cases on the register, 30 of these being new cases and 22 transferred from the Okehampton and S.W. Clinics. Members of the Committee have been most helpful and have done all they can to make the Clinic a success. We are very grateful to the "Cornish Needlework Guild" (per Mrs. Lethbridge) and also to several of the Committee ladies for gifts of blankets, pillows, screen and linen for our equipment. Much good work has been done by members of the Voluntary Transport and members of the Red Cross who have been in attendance weekly. H. GALBRAITH, Hon. Sec. OKEHAMPTON ORTHOPAEDIC CLINIC. In spite of the fact that the area served by the Okehampton Clinic was reduced by the opening of the Launceston Clinic, to which all the North-West Cornwall cases were transferred, the numbers on our register and average attendance showed an increase during the year. A Sister's Clinic (held fortnightly) was opened at Holsworthy, which enabled the children of that district to receive more attention than would otherwise have been possible. 28 292/841.51/2/2
