description 1938-03-31 1938 1930s 2 pages the Maintenance Fund is in a comparatively happy state. In a word the Members of the Council can confidently assure you that, provided they are enabled to raise the required capital they will, with economies which will be rendered possible, be able to support the increased annual cost of the additional amenities they wish to give the Patients and Nurses. The Reconstruction Scheme which we have briefly outlined is required to keep abreast of the advance in medical science and knowledge, and I would beg of you to support the Council of the Hospital in the fight to relieve the distress of the Mother in her home and the Daughter in her employment. Yours faithfully Londonderry President. Louis Newton Chairman of the Council. E.M. Harvey Hon. Treasurer. ----- To Date THE MOST HONOURABLE THE MARQUESS OF LONDONDERRY, K.G., P.C., M.V.O., President of the Chelsea Hospital for Women.
