Summary:1927 1927 1920s 40 pages 30 RATES OF PAY. (a) MATRONS. — £115 per annum, rising by annual increments of £10 to £185, with charge pay in addition on a scale varying from £30 to £45 per annum. (b) ASSISTANT MATRONS. — £95 per annum, rising by annual increments of £5 to £115 per annum. (c) CHARGE SISTERS. — £75 per annum, rising by annual increments of £5 to £90 per annum. (d) NURSING SISTERS. — £60 per annum, rising by annual increments of £2 10s. to £70 per annum. ASSISTANT NURSES. The rates of pay are as follows: — £25 per annum, if no war service; £30 per annum, if one year's war service (or more); £35 per annum, if in receipt of £30 per annum before 1st May, 1920. RATE OF ALLOWANCE FOR UNIFORM. (a) Matrons, assistant matrons, charge sisters and nursing sisters are paid a uniform allowance at the rate of: — £20 for the first year; £5 for the second year; £10 for the third and following years. (b) Assistant nurses are paid a uniform allowance of £4 10s. for each six months. OTHER ALLOWANCES.— The following allowances are granted to resident members of the Ministry Nursing Service and to resident assistant nurses: — Laundry allowance ........................................ 6d. per day. Allowance for extra rations ............................. 4d. " Allowance in respect of board and laundry during absence from the institution on sick leave (with pay) or annual leave ..................... 8s. " GRATUITY ON TERMINATION OF APPOINTMENT. (a) ELIGIBILITY. Gratuities may be paid to matrons, assistant matrons, charge sisters, and nursing Sisters on termination of appointment, provided that at least two years' satisfactory service has been rendered. (b) SCALE. The scale of gratuities is as follows: — Matrons: Not exceeding £15 for each full year's service. Assistant matrons and charge sisters: Not exceeding £10 for each full year's service. Nursing sisters: Not exceeding £7 10s. for each full year's service. INSURANCE. All members of the Ministry Nursing Service and assistant nurses whose salary and emoluments amount to less than £250 per annum are subject to the provisions of the National Health Insurance Acts but not to those of the Unemployment Insurance Acts. 126/TG/RES/X/1036A/14
