description 1944 1944 1940s 18 pages 15. INDUSTRIAL HEALTH SERVICES. Another matter for regret is the fact that the Industrial Services have not been brought within the scheme of co-ordination. Health Services in Industry have been highly developed in many places during the war. Trained and efficient nursing staffs have been employed, and rendered exellent [excellent] service. Is it the intention of the Government that such services should now be left entirely to the discretion of the employer, irrespective of the vital need for maintaining the same.? Is it not possible in some way to co-ordinate these vital services with those of the Hospital Services, and to guarantee a continuation of the same in peace time.? The Trade Union Congress with its experience of this aspect of the industrial world should be asked to give some consideration to this important aspect. 15 292/847/2/43
