HVT/EK/1047. Secretary's. 7th June, 1937. Mr. G. Chester, The National Union of Boot and Shoe Operatives, 28, Bedford Square, London, W.C.1. Dear Mr. Chester, SHOES FOR THE BASQUE CHILDREN I have today received from the Adminstrator of the Basque Children's Camp a letter stating that the shoes dispatched by your organisation have arrived. They go on to say how very much the gift was appreciated as their stock of shoes had been totally inadequate for the number of children. They ask you to accept their very sincere thanks for the great assistance rendered in the emergency which they experienced. May I also offer the General Council's appreciation to your Executive for the generous manner in which they have responded to our appeal? Yours sincerely, Assistant Secretary.
