Dear Comrade, I have your letter of the 4th July in which you inform us that Mrs. E. Curtis has asked you to remove your daughter, Ana-Maria, from her school by the 27th July, and in which you request us to take steps to ensure that the child shall not be repatriated to Spain. We have been in telephonic communication with Mrs. Curtis today, who informs us that she has received a letter from you to the effect that you and your family have a possibility of being selected for emigration to Mexico, and that in that case you would have to leave France very quickly. She tells us that you give these as reasons for desiring your children sent back to join you in France. We quite understand your fears about the fate of your children. I may say that Mrs. Curtis herself is very sympathetic. Her interest in the girl's welfare is shown in the fact that she has kept Ana-Maria beyond the period of her first offer and in the fact that she is now anxious to bring about the reunion of your whole family. Mrs. Curtis has arranged that your two children will join the convoy which leaves England on July 18 next, and I learn from her that she has written to you today, forwarding you a sum of money which will 292/946/38/89(I)
