CASTLE PRIORY, WALLINGFORD, BERKS. 28th September, 1942. The Rt. Hon. Sir Walter Citrine, K.B.E., General Secretary, Trades Union Congress, Transport House, Smith Square, LONDON, S.W.1. Dear Sir Walter, International Brigade Association. My Executive Committee, at their meeting last week, had under consideration the attached appeal from the International Brigade Association on behalf of the men who are imprisoned in France and other places. They instructed me to submit the matter to the General Council with the request that the Council ask the British Government, through the Foreign Office, in collaboration with the American Government, to endeavour to negotiate the release of these prisoners. In addition, my Executive Committee also decided to make a donation of £100 to the Fund of the International Brigade Association, which Fund they understand is to be administered by the Unitarian Service Committee, and a cheque for this amount will be sent to the International Brigade Association after the next meeting of my Finance Committee.
