PRESIDENT SAM WILD - VICE-PRESIDENT ALAN GILCHRIST - SECRETARY ALEC DIGGES International Brigade Association and Friends of Republican Spain 374 GRAYS INN ROAD - LONDON - W.C.1 - PHONE TERminus 3478 To: LONDON TRADES COUNCIL DELEGATES & MEMBERS Dear Delegate, May we make a most urgent appeal to you and the members of the organisation which you represent for support for a public meeting of protest called by the above Association against the decision to return a British Ambassador to Franco Spain. Already the friends of Franco in this country see this stop as a preliminary to, and are campaigning for, open military alliances with this fascist dictatorship which denies even the most elementary civil, trade union and religious rights to the Spanish people, and which has never disguised its hatred of all that is stood for by the British trade union and labour movement. We ask you particularly to recall that time after time at International Conferences, the Allied Governments at the conclusion of World War II stigmatised Franco's regime as one which had directly been set up as a result of aid received from Fascist Germany and Italy, that was a guilty party with Hitler and Mussolini in the conspiracy to wage war and a regime which denies even the most elementary civil, trade union and religious rights to the Spanish peeple. We ask you to demonstrate by your attendance and support for this meeting of Protest the deep and heartfelt detestation of the British Labour movement for this brutal and repressive regime whose very existence is not alone a menace to the Spanish people but to the international peace and wellbeing of working peoples throughout the world. Yours fraternally, Secretary, INTERNATIONAL BRIGADE ASSOCIATION & FRIENDS OF REPUBLICAN SPAIN. INTERNATIONAL BRIGADE ASSOCIATION & FRIENDS OF REPUBLICAN SPAIN - JARAMA ANNIVERSARY MEETING NO ALLIANCE WITH FRANC0! Speakers:- Mrs. Leah Manning J.P. Lt. Col. Basil Davidson Mr. Geoffrey Bing M.P. Nan Green In the Chair: Jim Ruskin Piano Recital: James Gibb SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 11th, 1951, at 7.30 p.m. Admission 6d. ST. PANCRAS TOWN HALL, EUSTON ROAD, W.C.1.
