Description
Summary:016b-0025-001 NEWSPAPER CUTTINGS Subject I.F.T.U. MEETING. Sheet No. Reference 19.11.37. Folder No ENDING UNION RIFT By Our Own Correspondent PARIS, Wednesday. AT a meeting of the Executive of the International Federation of Trade Unions, presided over by Sir Walter Citrine in Paris to-day, the question of affiliation of the Russian trade unions to the I.F.T.U. was considered. The position of the Trade Union Movements in Spain was also considered with a view to mediating between the two rival factions of the U.G.T., led by Senor Gonzalez Pena and by Senor Largo Caballero, who both emphasise their loyalty to the I.F.T.U. A special conference of the Executive is likely to be called so that both sides can state their case. To-day's meeting was held on the eve of the departure to Moscow of an official delegation, which is to discuss terms of affiliation. 292/946/16b/28
