In the OFFICERS (Merchant Navy) FEDERATION which is a member of THE NATIONAL MARITIME BOARD H.V. Tewson, Esq., Assistant General Secretary, Trades Union Congress, Transport House, Smith Square, S.W.1. 24th March 1939. Dear Mr. Tewson, Re:- Spanish Officers and Seamen in the United Kingdom. You will recollect that during the informal meeting held in your Office with regard to the above, it was suggested that we should communicate with the International Mercantile Marine Officers Association suggesting to them that a grant should be made towards the Fund which is being established in this country with regard to relieving distress among Spanish Officers and Seamen who are at present in this country. At the subsequent Meeting of the British section of the International Transportworkers Federation, at which our Union was also represented, a similar undertaking was given, and we now have pleasure in enclosing herewith a Draft for £20, and would be pleased to receive the official receipt in due course. Yours faithfully, D.S. Tennant For THE NAVIGATORS AND ENGINEER OFFICERS UNION. 292/946/25a/119
