I am in receipt of your letter of the 5th instant and in reply have to say that my Executive Council agree to put up their proportion of the £1,000 asked for (i.e. £280) to enable further support to be given to the Spanish Seamen still in this country. I accordingly enclose a cheque for that amount herewith. I trust that as a result of the efforts being put forward that it will be possible to expedite the placing of these men in employment, particularly on the lines suggested in the fourth paragraph of your letter.
