International Solidarity Fund. Sir Walter said that Stevenson had sent him a letter in which they said they wanted two ambulances as one had been destroyed. Also two supply lorries and one run-about car and they can buy all those things for about £1200. Mr. Bevin agrees that we should supply that money, and they will publish it from their end. Sir Walter would like this publicity done on New Year's day so would you mention this to Stevenson, telling him that we will do it this end if they will see to it from the other end. If Mr. Middleton agrees, will you send the cheque. Talking of the publicity, Sir Walter said it should be in the form of something like this. "The Scottish Ambulance Unit is in need of two new Ambulances, as one of theirs has been destroyed, two supply lorries and one run-about car, and these have been supplied by the T.U.C." Don't state the amount of money in the publicity. These are, of course, only rough notes. I am giving a copy to Mr. Tracey.
