description The last Appeal! It has come to our notice that a lot of Englishmen has been foolish enough to take egagement [!] for Hamburg, thinking that Labourers [!] where scarce, certainly not knowing that the scoundrely [!] German shipowners locket out their men for almost nothing. It would be an insult to the English nation, would we but for a moment think that you will not do all in your power to undo the wrong you did German Fellow?workers by comming to Hamburg as scabs. Considering now that it is of no use to crie [!] over spillt [!] milk and assured [!] also that you will help your German Fellow?workers, we would advice you to the following. 1. Ask for 10 sh a day they must give it to you. 2. Refuse all night work unless they pay you 20 sh for it. 3. Claim energetic, better food and better treatment and if there is a spark of Manhood left in you, dont let those fat, gutted, squareheaded German Jews, keep you prisoner on their ships. If there is a drop of the old English Blood in your vains, you will defy them and go on shore. Once more english brethren show these German bastards, that if they want you as scabs, they have to pay a high price for it, and at all times that Britons never shall be slaves!
