Armenia and the Polish Opposition PressMembers of the Polish opposition have joined an appeal by East European activists for the release of the Armenian dissident Paruir Airikyan [Paruyr Hayrikyan]. Recent independent press coverage of Armenia has not only included detailed reporting on the demonstrations and negotiations but has also considered the Armenian protest within the wider context of the nationalities issue in the Soviet Union.
