"Tygodnik Mazowsze" Reports on the Strikes / by Anna PomianAs well as providing some new information, a special issue of the leading Solidarity publication describing the first 10 days of the strikes in August has provided an interesting insight into the practicalities of staging and sustaining such strikes. First Strike Publications Reach the West / by Anna PomianStrike leaflets from Poznań were the first independent publications issued in connection with the strikes in August to reach the West. They relate to the strike in the H. Cegielski factory on August 22 and 23 and were issued by the Poznań branch of the militant Solidarity splinter group Fighting Solidarity. They contain calls to strike and echo in their tone the radical mood of the strikers and their supporters.
