description Duration: 00:54:00 "Nobody remembers anything about the past here" - so speaks a village chronicler who gave up his duties and retired. Yet people in a Ruthenian village remember a great deal, and it is through this labyrinth of memories and remembrances that the film takes us. The fully subjective and personal stories reconstruct a complex history of the 20th century: World War II, collectivization, intervention by Soviet troops, the years of 'normalization' in Czechoslovakia. As we follow these joyful and painful traces we learn how the events of 'big history' have left their mark on the daily lives of the inhabitants. There is no definite truth about the past: each individual believes in the personal story that he or she has experienced.
