A tudományos felfedezésekkel járó technikai fejlődés fokozott védekezésre kényszeríti a társadalmat. A károsító hatások ellen az ember igyekszik megfelelő védőeszközöket használni. Vannak olyan területek, ahol csak egyéni védőeszközök használata nyújthat megfelelő biztonságot. A mezőgazdaság is sok veszélyt rejthet, mint ahogy ismernünk kell a biológiai fegyverek hatásmechanizmusait is a megfelelő védelemhez. Megtanuljuk, hogyan készül a vegyvédelmi maszk.
