Summary:Records of this digital collection were assembled to document the work of the UN Special Committee on the Problem of Hungary established on January 10, 1957 by the United Nations General Assembly for the purpose of investigating the 1956 Hungarian revolution. Principal contributor(s): United Nations Special Committee on the Problem of Hungary Witness FF was captured by the Russians and deported to the Soviet Union. He was transported back to Hungary and interrogated by the ÁVH. Witness HH, lawyer, member of the Revolutionary Council in Veszprém, gave an account of the events in Veszprém. Most of the questions related to the legal situation in Hungary. Witness II, a soldier in a Transdanubian village at the time of the revolution, member of a revolutionary council, was arrested and deported to the Soviet Union.
