description Topical reviews of Polish samizdat publications in English prepared by RFE staff members to be used by different national broadcasting units. PIPR was published from 1986 until November 1989 as a continuation of Polish Underground Extracts (PUE). Exploiting Underground Publishing for the Distribution of Anti-Semitic Material / by Michał KołodziejUnderground channels have recently been used to spread anti-Semitic literature claiming that Jews are responsible for the crisis in Poland and that the democratic opposition is run by Jews. It is not clear who is behind this, although the authorities certainly do not hinder the distribution of the material, which is partly done from a church in Warsaw. It is quite apparent, however, that the initiators of the material are interested in compromising underground publishing in Poland. The Freedom and Peace Movement Fund / by Michał KołodziejIn November 1986 the Freedom and Peace movement created a council to collect and manage funds that would enable group activities. The money is chiefly used to finance the group's publications and to help victims of repression.
