Description
Summary:Verzio FF Submission An impression of Primo Levi’s journey from Auschwitz to Turin through readings from his book, “The Truce.” The book recounted the 10 month journey home of the Italian writer and chemist following liberation from Auschwitz in January 1945. This film follows the route by train and selects 10 key moments from the book to accompany each month of the journey. The extracts chosen describe a gradual awakening and renewal that Primo Levi felt took place along side a growing awareness of the abundance of life about him. The readings are provided by residents of Turin who also reflect upon the arbitrary nature of selections as well as survival.
