Summary:Verzio FF Focusing on four Chechen refugees and their families scattered around Europe, the film explores the effects of the European refugee policy on asylum seekers. Journalist Ali, 39, laments the situation of refugees in his smoky room in a refugee camp in Poland; Waha, 50, has been granted asylum status in Austria as a political activist, but his son is persecuted in Russia; Tamara, 55, lives in Vienna with her husband and disabled daughter under constant threat of deportation; Ruslan, 33, is stuck in Ukraine without legal documents or money but hopes to bring his family to Western Europe soon. Each of the protagonists had to flee Chechnya because their lives were at risk. Over a period of one year, the film follows the main characters and offers an intimate look at their search for a new home in Europe.
