Description
Summary:The series consists of the video recordings created by Rodolf Hervé. The overwhelming majority of the footages were shot at the various scenes of alternative culture including pubs, music performances and exhibition in Budapest, Hungary. In these recordings many of the prominent figures of alternative art of that time appear, including Tamás Király, Ágnes Bárdos Deák, Tamás Szirtes, Tibor Barcs, Zsuzsa Bende etc. Besides the recordings of alternative cultural life, there are two other categories of recordings. The first includes the series of recordings of night time passengers of tram No 6 and the Warm Water series shot of bathers in several of Budapest's baths, which reflect Hervé's interest in the city and people. The other consists of Hervé's works as visual artists experimenting with various media, including photo, video, digital photography, electrographic, collage and performance. In addition to recordings by Rodolf Hervé himself, the series includes footages recorded by other people, primarily by Hervé's associate and cameraman Tamás Szűcs, as well as Szűcs' compilation of Hervé's footages into the film "Notes of a Nomad”. There are also a few recordings shot in Guadeloupe and Paris, both of public and family events. The vast majority of the recordings are raw documentary footages with a few finalized products.
