| Summary: | The film takes a look at the Croatian business mafia in the 1980s. Two parallel stories reveal connections between politicians and criminals and expose a few scenes of illegal business. The stories are connected through a naïve country clerk who runs away from the possible revenge of his boss from whom he took money when he found him in bed with his lover. On the run Marko gets picked up by the head mafia chief, a motel owner Vanda who introduces him to the secrets of sexuality and city manners. Although she threatens him with death if he cheats on her, her jealous mafia girlfriends seduce him while she is away. In the meantime, a big police investigation uncovers the whole mafia chain including some high ranking party officials. Since there is no evidence against Marko he is free to go. Marko returns to his home village and decides to marry a local girl, but the prospect of happy end is ruined by Vanda’s assassin, sent to fulfill her deadly promise. |
