Description
Summary:Duration: 00:23:00 The film tells the story of a group of Federal Security Service officers who, on August 9th 1996, were ambushed in Grozny by Chechen rebels. 18 of them lost their lifes during the this small battle. The director, by overlapping the 9-16th of August period with the celebration of the Lord's Transfiguration, is attempting to stress the sacrifice and heroism of these officers in an absurd war in which politicians are interested more about gaining additional electoral points than about the safety of the population and of the service-men. At the same time, the documentary makes constant critical references to the second Russo-Chechnian war, point out the fact that none of the lessons of the first one have been learnt.
