Summary:Grotesque comedy about life on collective farms (kolkhoz). After some hesitation, members of “White Sands” kolkhoz decide to challenge another kolkhoz, “Dawn of Victory,” which has been winning socialist competitions for the past four years. Milkmaid Varvara from “Dawn of Victory” invites the best village witch to help her, while Zinka, a granddaughter of the head of “White Sands” kolkhoz, begs her granddad to accept her as a milkmaid in his kolkhoz. Having been accepted, Zinka beats all records in milking her cows and wins the leading status for her kolkhoz. This ‘miraculous worker” is invited to come to Moscow to a meeting of the best workers. Coming to speak at the tribune in the Kremlin the young milkmaid weeps with happiness.
