description "The use of the radiofrequency part of the electromagnetic spectrum for mobile telecommunication purposes offers many benefits for daily life. The associated exposure to electromagnetic fields, however, also leads to concerns, for instance on an increased risk of cancer. The Electromagnetic Fields Committee of the Health Council has performed systematic reviews of the epidemiological data and the data from animal experiments on the relation between exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic fields and cancer. A report that was published in June 2013 discussed the epidemiological data. The current report Mobile phones and cancer. Part 2. Animal studies on carcinogenesis contains the analysis of the studies on animal experiments. The Committee concludes from this evidence that it is highly unlikely that exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic fields can cause or stimulate the development of cancer in animals."
