Summary:1908 1908 1900s 18 pages 6 money. Each steward shall receive the sum of sixpence each night for attendance; but should either of the stewards come into the club room intoxicated, and unable to attend to his duty, he shall be fined sixpence. 6. When a free member of this society is unable, by sickness or otherwise, to follow his employment, he shall give notice to the secretary in writing before twelve o'clock at noon, or his pay will not commence that day; the secretary shall call on the three nearest members to visit (except in the case of a contagious disease, when a doctor's certificate must be produced every week) ; the first member to visit the sick on Monday or Thursday, the second on Tuesday or Friday, the third on Wednesday or Saturday. Visiting hours from eight a.m. till nine p.m. Members refusing to stand when called upon to be fined sixpence. Members to receive ten shillings per week for thirteen weeks, and five shillings per week for thirteen weeks more, when he must declare off the fund for six calendar months ; no member to receive more than thirteen weeks' whole, and thirteen weeks' half-pay in twelve months ; any member being on the sick fund for three days shall be entitled to claim for sick pay. Any member who has received the sum of £50 in sick pay, he shall remain off the funds for twelve months, when he shall be allowed thirteen weeks' full and thirteen weeks' half-pay, but shall not be eligible to go on the fund for twelve months after, and to continue at that rate during the remainder of his illness. 7. When a member on the funds of this society is able to follow his employment, he shall tell the steward the day before of his intention to declare off the funds ; he shall likewise send notice to the secretary stating whether he claims that day's pay. Members residing more than three miles from the club house may be registered as country members, and be exempt from all offices by paying one shilling per quarter in addition to 345/7/2/2
