description 018a-0041-001 Two Children from Spain . . . THEY HAVE LIMPED ACROSS THE MOUNTAINOUS BARRIER INTO FRANCE. THIS IS STARK HORROR, BUT THINK; THESE ARE THE FORTUNATE ONES. WHAT OF THOSE LEFT BEHIND? Beyond those mountains, men and women and children are being wounded now as you read these words. Doctors and nurses can ease their sufferings, but they cannot work without instruments, dressings, equipment, and even their skill and care may be in vain without the food and shelter that thousands now lack. On both sides of the frontier members of our Units are working, sometimes for 48 hours on end, to supply the most primary needs of these tragic victims of Fascism. As a result our funds are practically exhausted, yet we must be ready immediately to send medical supplies and medical food to the Central Zone, where the Spanish Government continues its fight against the German and Italian invaders. We can continue our work, but only with YOUR help. You have given already to so many causes. Once more we ask you: will you give yet again ? It is desperately urgent. WILL YOU DO THIS ? Whatever you can spare, send to-day to 24 New Oxford Street, London, W.C.1. If it is possible, show this leaflet to friends, and those among whom you work, and ask them to give; for the war is not over. Your fight against Fascism is still being waged in Spain. I enclose: Money Order / Postal Order / Cheque for £............... to buy medical supplies and food for Spain. Name ...................................................................
