HVT/EK/379. Secretary's. 20th February, 1937. Mr. G. Hicks, M.P., Amalgamated Union of Building Trade Workers, "The Builders", Crescent Lane, South Side, Clapham Common, London, S.W.4. Dear Mr. Hicks, AID FOR SPAIN. I desire to acknowledge receipt of the copy of a letter which you have received from Louis Cleaver who is with the International Brigade, and have noted the comments. I understand that the fund of the Communist Party is being devoted to sending things to the International Brigade, but, up to the moment, the understanding with our Spanish comrades is that our fund will be devoted to the supplying of requirements of which they notify us, which are received and distributed by a special Committee in Valencia. Yours sincerely, Assistant Secretary.
