A comedy of manners based upon a short story by Jan Himilsbach. Niuniek and Aniolek are an agreeable and loving couple, but they are not that well off. Their country cousins, who are coming on a visit, send a photograph of themselves taken in front of a villa and an expensive car. The couple want to impress their relatives too, and decide to temporarily swap their apartment for a bigger one. They buy masses of food and give a lavish dinner. At a certain point the lights go out and they have to continue partying by candlelight. An insomniac neighbor interrupts their party and calls the police, who take them to the police station. When they return the visit in summer, they realize that the villa and the car… belong to the relatives’ neighbors. |
