Description
Summary:"In Africa we were dreaming "Paris! Paris!" but when I came here..hhhmmmm. In Africa we may have little, but we have the joie de vivre... But here in Europe life is harsh. All we want is respect, so that people down look down at us as if we were worthless." The three-minute film, about a woman's reflections on her immigration to France, was produced at the now closed film production project, Edinburgh Mediabase. Jason Hall, who runs film production company Teebster, produced the film for Channel Four's Four Minute Wonders series. The film, which has been screened at festivals all over the world, has been chosen for inclusion in a selection of the best of Scotland's recently produced films to be screened at a special trade mission to Brussels run by the Scottish Executive. It has won the Venus of Badalona award for best documentary at the Festival Filmets Badalona in Barcelona. It was also shown on Cabtivate screens in Edinburgh's black taxis this summer.
