She moved to West London and after a few office jobs she trained as a nurse. Hoda mainly worked at St Charles and St Marys hospitals. She describes the poverty and drug addiction of some patients, and the shock of seeing other older patients left alone for years. She was responsible for student nurses. In her clip Hoda talks about the problem of maintaining trained female staff because there weren’t any facilities to help mothers continue working after childbirth.
