| Summary: | "The purpose of the Project is to improve the manner in which information is exchanged between European Labour Inspectorates to ensure enhanced cross border enforcement and mutual assistance in inspection and sanctioning proceedings, and make proposals to the SLIC and the Commission with a view to further initiatives, programmes and regulations on these issues. The core elements of the project are transmission and exchange of information among Labour Inspectors, their mutual cooperation in enforcement procedures to investigate breaches and the cross-border execution of fines. These matters are already regulated at European level in other sectors such as taxes or customs. The aim of the CIBELES proposals would be to ensure the same level of mutual assistance between labour inspectorates as other similar institutions engaged in cross-border enforcement activities." |
