Summary: | "Based on the experiences of a pilot data collection performed in 1998 (data of 1995) Eurostat has collected the first statistical data on recognised occupational diseases (EODS) for the reference year 2001. Recognition practices and social security arrangements for occupational diseases differ between the Member States, and the core data includes only those 68 occupational disease items which are covered by all national systems. For these entities there were 31 945 new cases of occupational disease recognised by the national authorities in the 12 Member States (Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Finland, Sweden and the United Kingdom) providing EODS data for the reference years 2001." |
