Labelling ULDs a 'tenosynovitis', or RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) may have far reaching consequences to the patient, especially in terms of treatment and legal issues. For this reason an aid for the initial medical management of ULDs was devised by an expert group of occupational physicians, GPs and ergonomists to supplement the existing knowledge and skills of GPs.
