Offered a job in Wembley, she enjoyed classroom teaching in a primary school. Notes that women at this school got equal pay although women generally did not. Describes the structure of schools, 'streaming' of pupils and the use of corporal punishment. She became a Head teacher in 1980 and describes the changes she introduced like computers and a ban on homework, the composition of the school and developments in the 1980s and the growth of 'parent power'. She took early retirement in 1992. In this clip she talks about teacher training college and making life long friends through the training.
