Summary:1908 1908 1900s 18 pages 9 examined, such member shall he excluded without appeal. Any member accusing another of imposing on the funds, and not having proof thereof, shall be fined two shillings and sixpence, to be paid on quarterly night, or be excluded. 12. Should any member while on the funds of the society be found following his employment or doing anything for profit or gain, such member shall be excluded; and if he is absent from home without leaving word in writing where he is gone, he shall be fined one shilling for such neglect ; and if he be found absent from home after nine o'clock from Lady-day to Michaelmas-day, or after seven o'clock from Michaelmas-day to Lady-day, he shall for the first offence be fined two shillings and sixpence; for the second five shillings; and for the third, be excluded without appeal. Should any member while on the funds be found fighting, drunk, or gaming, or in a public-house after the time specified in these rules, such member shall be excluded. Any member contracting the venereal disease shall not be entitled to any benefit from the sick fund of this society. 13. Should either of the stewards while in office be compelled by sickness or otherwise to declare on the funds of the society, the scretary [secretary] shall call on the next member present to serve the office, and if he refuse to serve he shall be fined sixpence ; but if he serves two weeks he shall be exempt from office the next month, and as soon as the sick steward is able to declare off the funds he shall resume his duty until the end of the month. 14. Any member who is six weeks in arrears will not be entitled to any benefits from the sick fund until the same is paid, but should such suspended member die, his funeral money will be paid to his wife, heir or nominee. Members declaring on the funds who are one month in arrears will have the same deducted from their first week's sick pay. 15. When any question is brought before the society, it shall be moved and seconded, and every free member shall be at liberty to express his opinion on the subject, 345/7/2/2
