Summary:1908 1908 1900s 18 pages 11 18. That when the burial fund of this society amounts to £5, it shall be invested in the savings bank by the consent of the members on a quarterly meeting night, who shall elect three trustees, removable at the pleasure of the members of the society, provided just cause is shown for the removal of the same ; and in case of vacancy by removal or death, the vacancy shall be filled in like manner. Should either of the trustees misapply or appropriate any of the society's money to their own use, they shall repay the same and be excluded. The trustees to receive one shilling each for depositing or withdrawing money from the bank. 19. When it is necessary to summon the society together, notice shall be given to the secretary, who shall give notice to the whole of the members, or be fined sixpence for each neglect ; they shall attend the club house at half-past eight o'clock precisely ; the stewards to announce the time beiore the roll is called. Members neglecting to attend or not answering to their names when called to be fined sixpence, unless on the funds. No member to leave the room until he has given his vote on the question he has been summoned to decide, or he will be fined sixpence. Any discussion not decided by eleven o'clock to be adjourned ; all adjourned meetings on summoned meeting nights to be considered as summoned meeting nights, and the fines to be the same ; no summoned meeting to take place without the consent of the stewards and seven free members, the secretary to receive twopence for each notice ; the roll to be called at half-past eight and close of meeting. 20. Should any member at any time be found guilty of having embezzled any part of the cash, effects, or property of the society, or conniving at any person or persons doing the same, he shall be excluded as soon as the same is proved against him ; or shall any member be convicted of larceny or felony he shall be excluded ; but should any member by misfortune be compelled to go to a workhouse or a prison, and he has friends who will keep up his contributions, they shall be allowed his funeral money. 345/7/2/2
