Description
Summary:1944 1944 1940s 3 pages - 3 - On the question of the formation of local committees, the Conference generally felt that as so many of these are now in being they should be retained, and where possible extended. It was considered inadvisable to attempt to lay down plans confirming the membership of such local committees, although this subject is likely to be further pursued at the Conference which will be convened by the Ministry at a later date. I feel justified in saying that the Conference served a very useful purpose, and it was quite obvious that the views of the General Council on this subject were not only welcomed, but were sought from every quarter. Indeed, I found myself at the conclusion of the Conference almost carrying on a separate one with certain members of the Medical Profession and others. Thanking you to bring this to the notice of the Committee. W.P. Allen 292/845.2/4/36
