PROGRESS OF NATIONAL SCHEME. During the ten years that the Central Council has been in existence satisfactory progress has been made and many areas are now equipped with orthopaedic hospitals and clinics, and a few also with training workshops. But there are still large areas where the necessary facilities for dealing with the cripple problem are either non-existent or sadly inadequate, and the most urgent need at the present time is the formation of Local Associations to promote schemes in these neglected areas. HOW YOU CAN HELP BY arousing public interest in your district in the welfare of cripples, and BY spreading information as to the work that is being done for them and what remains to be done. BY organising a Local Association for the Care of Cripples in your own area (if one does not already exist) to promote the general welfare of all cripples in the area. BY subscribing to and helping the work of the Local Association (if any) in your own area. BY subscribing to the funds of the Central Council to enable them to extend their national scheme for all cripples in the United Kingdom. The Secretary of the Central Council will always be pleased to supply information to those interested in work for cripples, either by letter, or personally at Carnegie House, 117, Piccadilly, London. The following publications of the Council can be obtained from the Secretary. Care and Cure of Crippled Children ... Price 6d. Organisation of Local Associations ... „ 2d. Vocational Training & Employment of Cripples ... „ 3d. Handbook of Orthopaedic Schemes in Operation. Reports of Conferences Price 1/- December, 1933. Read & Brown, London Road, Clapton, E.5.
