Description
Summary:1929-11 1929 1920s 12 pages - 3 - obtained from them were used to further progress in obstetrics. 9. Research, apart from this, should also be undertaken. There seems little advance in this branch of medicine, and many problems remain unsolved. This can be undertaken only where there is sufficient material for investigation. 10. With regard to legislative action, your sub-committee is agreed that this is required in connection with the provision of maternity benefit under the National Health Insurance Acts, as well as with the training and practice of midwives and of medical students in midwifery. 11. With regard to the suggestions contained in the terms of reference relating to other committees, your sub-committee deemed it desirable to test the general approval of the Public Health Advisory Committee, of the scheme submitted to-day, before approaching any other body. 292/824/1/115
