The People's League of Health. Patron: HIS MAJESTY THE KING. "Knowledge is the only armour of defence which cannot be robbed by an enemy." Founded in 1917 by Miss OLGA NETHERSOLE, R.R.C. BRANCHES NATIONAL. Wales. Preliminary steps have been taken for its formation. The Prime Minister has accepted the Presidency. Scottish National Branch it is hoped may be formed at a not far distant date. The Hon. Organiser has visited Edinburgh and Glasgow and was received by the Lord Provosts, who were in sympathy with the work of the League and promised their help, and suggested a joint meeting being arranged later in the year. The Hon. Organiser had interviews with the Medical Officers of Health of Edinburgh and Glasgow. COUNTIES. Leicestershire, 16 Branches established. Devonshire, Torquay ; Essex, Southend-on-Sea ; Gloucestershire, Gloucester, Bristol ; will form Branches later in the year.
