THE HEALTH SERVICES FEDERATION OF GREAT BRITAIN 1. What is the Federation? The Health Services Federation is a voluntary combination in the first instance of the following professional and vocational organisations affiliated to the Trades Union Congress, viz. : Mental Hospitals and Institutional Workers' Union (1, Rushford Avenue, Levenshulme, Manchester). Women Public Health Officers' Association (7, Victoria Street, London, S.W.1). National Union of County Officers and the Guild of Nurses (38, Argyle Square, London, W.C.1). The Federation caters for all those engaged in administering the public services carried out by Public Health and Public Assistance Committees of Local Authorities (including Women Health Visitors, Sanitary Inspectors, Tuberculosis Visitors, School Nurses, Municipal Midwives and Clinic Nurses, etc.) ; Mental Hospitals, Voluntary Hospitals, Fever and Maternity Hospitals, Cottage Hospitals, etc. It covers England, Wales and Scotland. The control of the Federation is vested in a National Executive Council consisting of representatives of the Organisations concerned. The following constitute the present Executive Council, viz. : Mr. G. GIBSON (Member of the T.U.C. General Council), Chairman Miss AMY SAYLE, M.B.E., M.A., L.C.C., Vice-Chairman. Miss H.M. GRAY, Treasurer. Mr. G. VINCENT EVANS, F.C.I.S., General Secretary Mr. HAROLD SMITH, A.C.C.S., Publicity Secretary. Mr. C. BARTLETT. S.R.M.N. Miss K.M. WILLIS, S.R.M.N. (Member of the General Nursing Council). Alderman Miss KELLETT. Miss F.B. GOODALL, S.R.C.N., C.M.B., H.V. Mr. W.R. OWEN, J.P., L.C.C. The Federation commences with a membership of over 30,000 and it has experienced and expert representatives in all parts of the country to protect and safeguard the interests of its members.
