Description
Summary:1938-03 1938 1930s 69 pages : illustrations CLEANLINESS OF FOOD 51 Something should be said, too, to pupils who are old enough to understand the topic, of the increasing use of the refrigerator in the home. The increasing popularity of electrical appliances, the extension of the "grid" system, and the increase of housing accommodation of the modern type, makes it reasonably certain that a fair proportion of those who are pupils in the schools today will, in a few years, be using electrical refrigeration in their homes as a matter of course. It is very appropriate, then, as part of their preparation for the world of tomorrow, that they should learn something of the changes which are taking place in the planning of the home, and the extent to which these changes are the result of the attitudes towards cleanliness which they are themselves acquiring whilst at school.
