APPENDIX 69 VII. SPECIAL LECTURERS The Council maintains a staff of specialist lecturers. The arrangements which can be made depend largely upon the locality in which the school is situated. On such occasions as the holding of a Health Week in the school area, it is particularly appropriate to arrange for special lecturers to visit schools, or to organise lectures which school children may attend. VIII. A "CLEAN TICKETS" CLEANLINESS SCHEME The Council suggests the following Cleanliness Scheme in connection with the "Clean Tickets." The children are divided into teams — cyclamen, green, yellow and blue (the colours of the tickets). A daily cleanliness inspection is held (hands, faces, nails, etc.), and "Clean Tickets" are awarded to the children who are satisfactory in all respects and punctual in attendance at school. At the end of a specified period, the team whose members hold the largest number of "Clean Tickets" is recognised as winner, and certificates of merit or small prizes are awarded to the children who have earned a complete set of the "Clean Tickets." These tickets lend themselves for use in a variety of ways according to the teacher's scheme. IX. CERTIFICATES OF MERIT The Health and Cleanliness Council is prepared to supply teachers with Certificates of Merit for appropriate reward in the "Clean Ticket" Cleanliness Scheme (described above), or in connection with essay, slogan, or painting competitions based upon the Cleanliness idea. X. SCHOOL COMPETITIONS AND AWARDS The Council is prepared to consider the award of attractive toilet outfits, washable permanised pictures and other novelties as prizes in school competitions connected
