Description
Summary:1938-03 1938 1930s 69 pages : illustrations 70 HEALTH AND CLEANLINESS with the teaching of cleanliness. These competitions include painting and story competitions for juniors and essay and poster designing competitions for senior pupils. Teachers are invited to apply for further particulars. XI. CLOAKROOM MIRRORS The Council offers mirrors (a limited supply only) for school cloakrooms. These mirrors will be awarded only to schools where special work has been done to promote cleanliness on the lines embodied in the textbook for teachers. Head teachers who think their school is entitled to one of these mirrors should make application to the Secretary, Health and Cleanliness Council, 5, Tavistock Square, London, W.C.1. In doing so they should state what efforts are being made towards attaining a greater practice of cleanliness among their pupils, and what degree of success has attended past efforts in this direction. They should also give information as to what future schemes they intend to put into practice to emphasise still further the importance of cleanliness. XII. INVITATION TO TEACHERS The Council invites suggestions from teachers, who are endeavouring to teach cleanliness to their pupils, as to ways in which its work might be extended in directions which would make it more directly serviceable to schools and teachers. The Council recognises that the help of those directly engaged in such work has a special value, and will at all times gratefully avail itself of such co-operation.
