The Socialist Medical Association, which was founded in 1930, is affiliated to the Labour Party and to the International Socialist Medical Organisation. Among its objects are the inauguration of a Socialised Medical Service, both preventive and curative, free and open to all, and the propagation of Socialism within the medical and allied services. Membership is open to Socialists who are qualified Medical Practitioners. Socialists who are Medical Students, or members or students of approved Allied Services, are eligible to become Associates.
