Description
Summary:034-0122-001 TELEPHONE - Rossendale 657. MEMORANDUM from The Rossendale Union of Boot Shoe, and Slipper Operatives. Office: 7 Tenterfield Street, Waterfoot, Rossendale. Secretary: Albert Taylor. Sir W.M. Citrine, Secretary, 7th. June 1938. Trades Union Congress, Transport House, Smith Square, LONDON,S.W.1. Dear Sir, We have received an appeal from the International Brigade Dependants and Wounded Aid Committee which is signed by 24 Members of Parliament and Industrial leaders who have recently visited Spain. Before doing anything in the matter we would like to know if the T.U.C. make any grants out of the International Solidarity Fund to this organisation. We are anxious to do all we can to help Spain but our grants in the main have been sent direct to you and we would like your views on the appeal mentioned. Awaiting your reply, Yours faithfully, Albert Taylor 292/946/34/122
